A NEW extension has been completed at King's St Alban's – one of the two junior schools for King's Worcester.

This area and the new classrooms provide an added educational environment for the pupils to begin their journey at King’s.

To mark the opening, parents of pupils were invited along for tea and cake in the new garden.

A group of Year 2 children sang two songs, one in French, which left the audience beaming with pride.

Parents were then encouraged to explore the facility, visiting the existing and new classrooms, before making their way into the garden for tea and cake.

Louise Robin, registrar at King’s St Alban’s, said: "Now that Pre-Prep has been extended, more children can benefit from the wonderful opportunities that the department offers.

"There is no better place to start, and it’s great to see so many parents that think so too."

Ian Griffin, head of the junior school and Matthew Armstrong, headmaster of King’s Worcester, were on hand to greet and chat to the parents.

Mr Armstrong said: "It’s wonderful to see our new facilities being used so effectively, and delightful to meet the parents and grandparents of some of our future King’s Junior and Senior School children.

"We are proud of the exceptional teaching environment here, based on encouragement and nurturing the best in every child.

"The extra classroom enables us to admit more four- to seven-year-olds, so they too can experience all that the school has to offer."
