TRAFFIC is running smoothly again following an incident this morning at Black Bridge, Hartlebury, on the A450 to Mustow Green, near the junction of the A449 Worcester to Kidderminster road.
Network Rail said the vehicle struck the bridge at 8.28am and immediately reported the incident to the rail company. Traffic was delayed temporarily but was cleared by 8.42am.
A spokesman for the rail company said the bridge had been checked for damage and has been passed as safe.
"The next two trains along the line over bridge in either direction are told to stop and travel over the bridge at five miles per hour and report back anything they are concerned about," she said.
A lorry is understood to have been involved in a similar incident six weeks ago.
The bridge is relatively low but there are warning signs which indicate its height.
