A MAN who burgled a Powick home has appeared in court charged with being in possession of a firearm.

Worcester magistrates were told that Leon Wheeler, aged 29, was also charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and while not covered by insurance.

It was also alleged that Wheeler had stolen laptops and mobile phones worth more than £2,000 by burgling a Powick home.

He was also accused of stealing computers, laptops and a Peugeot valued at £10,000 from another Powick home.

An allegation that he stole cash, jewellery and a Vaux-hall Vectra worth £22,000 by burgling a home in Bridgnorth was also put to him.

Wheeler, of West Boulevard, Quinton, Birmingham, denied all charges when he appeared in court this week.

Magistrates told him the cases relating to a stun gun, and the driving offences were linked and would all be heard at crown court on Tuesday, April 24.

Wheeler, who appeared in custody, made no application for bail and was told he would be returned to Worcester Magistrates Court on Monday, April 23.
