PATIENTS suffering with eye disease as a result of diabetes are being invited to a support group meeting.
The meeting of the Worcestershire Diabetes Eye Disease Support Group will be held at Worcestershire Royal Hospital’s diabetes centre from 10am until midday on Thursday, September 17.
Consultant Jasbir Chhina will be leading the group, which is open to both patients and their families, discussing the benefits of registering as sight-impaired.
The abnormally high level of glucose in the bloodstreams of patients with diabetes can lead to damage in the eyes, particularly the retina.
