AN evening of “delightful music in an exquisite venue” is coming to Malvern in aid of a charity for vulnerable children in Thailand and Burma.

The event, which takes place at Elmslie House in Avenue Road on Saturday, October 10, at 7.30pm, will feature performances by BBC regulars Bronte Tadman, Zara Edwards, Livia King and Ali Bendal.

It will raise money for Malvern-based good cause Hands, which exists to "protect those who are exploited and vulnerable to abuse, many of whom are fleeing oppression and suffering persecution" in Thailand and Burma.

Professional singer Natasha Killam, who grew up in Malvern, was inspired to organise the event after being touched by the life-changing work of the charity.

She said: “I do intend to travel out to Thailand and be part of the physical effort with a team in the near future but the best I can offer for now is to share the amazing talents of some of my professional musical friends and acquaintances.

“They are all delighted to donate their varied skills and talents to help Hands.”

The concert will also feature local performers Jenny Hallam, Lou Clarke, Peter Shephard and Jenny Lind Singers while the evening programme will range from Sondheim, Kerrigan and Lowdermilk and Tim Sutton to Stephen Schwartz, Benjamin Britten and Billie Holiday.

Light refreshments, a fundraising raffle and a sale of Thai gifts will also be on offer.

Sue Wilson, of Hands, added: “We were delighted when Natasha contacted us offering to organise a concert for Hands and we are so grateful to Natasha and her friends for giving up their time to perform in aid of the work done by Hands. We are looking forward to this very special evening.”
