FRAUDSTERS are using online adverts to scam unsuspecting members of the public out of their hard-earned cash.
Con artists are offering items for "free" on websites - explaining a recent house move is the reason for the sale - and simply request a courier fee for delivery.
Payment is requested by money transfer using MoneyGram or Western Union.
But anyone who falls for the scam never receives the goods and any attempt to contact the seller for a refund is unsuccessful.
Police are urging people in Worcestershire to only purchase items online that stay within auction website guidelines, to ask to see the items in person and to be cautious when making money transfers.
