YOUR Worcester News has a new Editor.

Kevin Ward, who was born in Worcester and is a former pupil of the Royal Grammar School and Pershore High School, begins his tenure at Berrows House today.

Mr Ward, aged 40, who is married with two sons, joins the Worcester News team after 18 years in a variety of editorial and commercial roles based at Newsquest's Newport office in South Wales.

Since 2005 he has been Publisher of a series of 11 weekly newspapers, responsible for editorial and commercial matters, and prior to that was Deputy Editor of the daily South Wales Argus newspaper.

He trained as a journalist at our sister paper, the Evesham Admag.

Mr Ward said: "I am delighted to be back in my home city and honoured to be the Editor of the Worcester News and Berrow's Worcester Journal. My aim is to make our newspaper and website must-reads for the people of Worcester and its surrounding towns.

"I intend us to be informative, fun, challenging, interactive and campaigning.

"Above all, I want us to be fighting on the side of our readers."
