AFTERNOON tea was enjoyed by youngsters from St George's Catholic primary school as a thank you for their Albatross artwork.
The children, along with pupils from Riversides School, had been asked to create artwork as part of the Illustration Beats Explanation exhibition.
Their work brought to life a museum exhibit called Albert the albatross which has been at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum since 1902.
Youngsters from St George's drew storyboards imagining adventures for Albert including seeing the Vikings, the Titanic and meeting a young Queen Elizabeth.
Kate Phillipson, the museum's access and learning officer, said: "We invited St George's RC School and Riversides School to take part in this exhibition, and were really thrilled by the creative ideas and standard of artwork produced by all the children.
"The children's work was displayed alongside selected works from our collection and the work of current illustrators, and the school work shone!
"Many of our visitors remarked on the quality and the imagination.”
Illustrator Keeley Lippitt, aged 9, said, “ It’s really exciting to see all our work on display in the gallery and see Albert again.”
