STAFF from Fortis Living took on the high street retailers this festive season with their very own pop-up shop.
It opened for business in a vacant shop unit in Rose Avenue, Tolladine, for just two days at the start of December.
All of the shop's stock was donated by the housing association's staff and sold to Tolladine residents at the bargain price of 50p per item, with all proceeds going directly to homeless charity Maggs Day Centre.
Sue Heelas, Fortis Living's assistant director for housing and communities, said: "The Christmas pop up shop gave us double the chance to make a difference to our local communities. It helped Tolladine residents make their money go a little further and at the same time generated vital funds for Maggs Day Centre.”
The project followed hot on the heels of the successful 'communities week' pop-up shop run by Fortis Living in September, which raised almost £800 for disabled children charity New Hope.
