PUPILS from Perry Wood Primary and Nursery School have made their own bird feeders as part of a whole-school homework project about birds.
The youngsters have also created posters and conducted research.
This weekend the pupils will become junior ornithologists, completing the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch survey by counting the number of birds that visit their garden or local park over the course of one hour.
Head teacher Tracy Kelly-Freer said, "Our school is situated next to the Perry Wood Local Nature Reserve, our classes are named after birds and our school motto is "Roots to Grow, Wings to Fly".
"The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch is therefore a perfect project for our children and their families to enjoy at home.
"We are looking forward to taking part in the country's largest wildlife study this weekend."
