COUNTRY legend Dolly Parton has donated some prizes for an auction to raise funds for Worcester's life-saving breast unit.

Breast Unit Events has secured an auction lot for their forthcoming SnowBall from the Queen of Country, Dolly Parton.

The public have a chance of bidding for the goodies prior to the event which is organised by the Worcester-based voluntary community group.

The 2nd Worcester SnowBall is being organised to raise money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven and will take place on December 3 at the Bank House Hotel in Bransford, near Worcester.

The country legend has kindly donated a personally signed picture; collector's edition of the Backwoods Barbie album; a Dolly live from London DVD; an XL Dolly t-shirt; and a medium and large poster of Dolly herself.

Sourced by local singer songwriter Deborah Rose (deborahrose.co.uk) on her recent trip to Nashville, the haul of Dolly merchandise, will be auctioned at the second Worcester SnowBall.

However, Breast Unit Events are opening the up the auction for the Dolly prize to everyone prior to the charity event.

Kate Butler and Susie Coleman, co-founders of Breast Unit Events said: “The first Worcester SnowBall in 2014 raised over £17,000 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit and this year we want to raise over £20,000, and opening up this auction lot prior to the ball we hope will help us reach our goal.”

The 2nd Worcester SnowBall sold out in April and will be a glittering evening of dinner and dancing with live music, a magician, a disco, casino tables and charity raffle and auction for over 300 guests.
