ENGINEERS are set to work through the night to repair a burst water main at a busy junction in Worcester.
The main burst this afternoon (Friday) at the junction of Bransford Road and Malvern Road, in St John's.
Temporary traffic lights were installed in Bransford Road by Worcestershire County Council, while Severn Trent worked to fix the damaged pipe.
Residents and business owners are not affected by the fault, but traffic will be disrupted while the repairs took place.
Drivers are facing long delays in the area, due to the temporary lights.
Nikki Lane Tweeted the Worcester News to say she had been stuck for half-an-hour trying to leave Sainsbury's in Swanpool Walk.
@worcesternews hardly minimal impact on traffic when you are still trying to get out of Sainsbury's 30 mins later.... #standstill@sainsburys

A spokesman for Severn Trent said: "Our teams are due to start repairs to a burst water pipe this (Friday) evening on Bransford Road, Worcester.
"Customers water supplies are currently not affected by the burst and we’ll be working through the night to repair the leak and to return everything back to normal as quickly as possible.
"To keep our engineers and other road users safe as we work, we’ll be using traffic lights at the junction with Malvern Road, we’re really sorry for any inconvenience but hope as we’re working through the night this will have minimal impact on traffic."
A water main also burst on the A4103 in Bransford today, causing the road to be shut while repairs took place.
Diversions have been set up around the affected area, while Severn Trent fix the fault.
