ALLEGATIONS a police officer gave inaccurate information in an official statement have not been proved.
At a public misconduct hearing, an independent panel found Police Sergeant Gregory Tudge was not guilty of gross misconduct.
Detective Superintendent Gary Watson, head of professional standards for Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police, said: "This matter has been the subject of intense scrutiny and the due process has been concluded.
"The allegation, which centred around PS Tudge breaching the standard of professional behaviour 'honesty and integrity' was not proved. The force accepts the decision of the panel."
The hearing, chaired by Susan Monaghan, concluded on Tuesday, January 31.
It followed a professional standards investigation which began when it was alleged the PS Tudge had given inaccurate information in an official statement in 2012.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) then directed that the officer was subject to a gross misconduct hearing.
