ONCE one of the most impressive places to shop in this part of the world was Warwick House of Malvern. An upmarket department store fronting Wells Road and right out of Are You Being Served, it operated for 150 years before closing in 1992. There was a management buy-out from owners Gieves and Hawkes, the London tailors, in 1987, but sadly that failed, despite the best efforts of Patricia Porter, Julian Cooper, Ken Anstiss, David Robertson and Judith Anstiss.
