ARMED with his trusty guitar and a repertoire of famous love songs, a well known singer is offering to turn up to serenade loved ones.

Jamie Knight came up with the romantic idea while celebrating Valentine's Day a day early with his wife Lucy at home in Barbourne.

People can book the 42-year-old to turn up to a house or workplace in Worcester where he will serenade a loved one with two songs for £10.

Already, he has surprised five significant others as well as the Worcester News office in Hylton Road where he sang Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud.

Mr Knight, Mello festival's promotions manager, said: "My wife and I had a Valentine's Day meal last night (Monday) because I am playing at a sold out restaurant in Kidderminster this evening.

"I was playing for her and she was singing along and she loved it and then I thought it would be a great idea to go out this week and serenade people.

"I just knock on the door and tell them what I am doing and give them a message from their loved one and begin singing.

"There wasn't a dry eye at the one I just did, they loved it."

He has promoted the offer on his Facebook page and already is getting messages from romantics wanting to surprise their other halves.

And it is not just couples who could have Mr Knight turn up on their doorstep.

"Valentine's Day just isn't about people who have partners but it is about saying thank you so it could be a best friend or a companion.

"It's a bit different but people seem to be really up for it."
