A "SUSPICIOUS package" discovered in a town centre turned out to be a bag of children's toys.
Officers were called to reports of the unattended black bag with "wires" sticking out in Evesham town centre today (Thursday) but found it was a charity donation that had been moved.
A post on the South Worcs Cops page read: "Evesham officers were called to a suspicious package in the town centre with a report of red blue and yellow wires hanging out of the bag this morning.
"Luckily brave officers managed to defuse the bomb by sliding the blocks of wood along the loops.
"Then relocated the package to outside the charity shop (where it should have been left). Crisis over. Phew!!!!!"
