PUPILS at Pendock Primary have enjoyed learning about 'inspirational maths' - and so have their parents.
Pupils explored creative maths and learned about 'growth mind-set' - the idea that if pupils do better if they believe they can improve rather than assuming intelligence is predetermined.
The week also included hands-on maths workshops for parents.
John Greenbank, class 2 teacher and maths specialist, said: "Many people think they aren't good at maths, but a growth mind-set makes it possible to overcome difficulties, embrace challenges and become a confident mathematician."
Sarah Valentine, a parent with two children at the school, said: "The workshop was a really good opportunity to help us understand the new approaches to teaching maths and to be able to support our children with maths at home."
