INTREPID staff at a city business have embarked on a challenge to walk more than 1,000 miles for charity.
The team at ACMI UK, based in Broomhall Lane, Worcester, are taking on a sponsored walk to the company's head office in Italy – 1,033 miles away.
The challenge marks the firm's 15th birthday and will see staff cover the distance using a treadmill at the UK office.
Every penny raised will be donated to St Richard's Hospice, the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven and the Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire branch of the RSPCA.
Rick Gerrard, managing director at ACMI UK, said: "Everybody is getting involved in it. I think it is brilliant, it is great – it is a good thing for us.
"It will benefit people in the company as well as the charities."
The walk began on Monday, April 3 and it is hoped the team will complete the challenge in six months.
A charity bank account has been set up for the sponsorship funds, and donors can make payment to: account number 95396462 and sort code 55-81-36.
