A WELL-KNOWN sports presenter is taking to the stage at a local care home.

BBC presenter Garry Richardson will entertain residents and members of the public free of charge at Fernhill House in Fernhill Heath, Worcester.

Mr Richardson, has a 40 year pedigree with the BBC, including a regular slot on Radio 4’s Today programme and Five Live’s Sportsweek.

He has reported on seven Olympic Games and interviewed some of the world’s most famous names including Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, Muhammad Ali, David Beckham, Tiger Woods, John McEnroe, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Eddie Murphy.

He will be speaking on Thursday September 21 between 6pm and 8pm with the added lure of free drinks and nibbles for all guests.

On Thursday July 27 author and broadcaster Gervaise Phinn, best known for his autobiographical memoirs set in the Yorkshire Dales, will be recounting humorous tales of his life working in education.

And on Thursday August 17 former Irish hotelier Frank Flaherty talks about his world travels with a comic approach.
