A 21-year-old man died after a car crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

The crash happened at around 4.30pm on Tuesday in Buckle Street on the way to Honeybourne.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene, in Bidford-on-Avon, along with police and fire colleagues.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When emergency services arrived they were faced with a car fire following the collision.

"Sadly, nothing could be done to save the driver of the car who was confirmed dead on scene.”

It is the second person to have died on the same road within a week after a teenager died.

The cyclist, a 16-year-old boy, suffered head injuries in a crash with a Freelander last Thursday.

He was taken to hospital but later died.
