AN optician's appeal for gifts means 150 shoeboxes can be sent to deprived children around the world.
Staff at Specsavers in Droitwich were overwhelmed by the generosity of local people in supporting the Operation Christmas Child campaign.
Emma Smith, store director, said: "We are delighted and amazed to have collected enough gifts to fill so many shoeboxes – so many in fact that we were beginning to not be able to see out of the store.
"Thank you to everyone who supported us – this is a great initiative which will hopefully bring a smile to children who may otherwise not have received a Christmas gift."
