A FUTURISTIC Christmas tree designed by city architects has been catching the eye at Worcester Cathedral.

Local architectural practice Herlig-Marles Ltd, based in London Road, has installed the tree at the cathedral for the ongoing Christmas Tree Festival.

The tree has various levels, with windows at the end. Visitors can peak inside and see Christmas bunting, bicycles, people dancing, stags, and even some Banksy references.

Anita Marles, director at Herlig Marles Ltd Architecture said: "It doesn’t have tinsel, there are no baubles and it’s not even green.

"The Herlig Marles tree is modern, friendly and fun.

"There is a time and place for modern design and Herlig Marles chose this year to step out and wow Worcester with their Christmas tree - so if you want to come along, and judge for yourself."

The trees of the exhibition are on display in the cathedral's cloisters, and have all been provided by a variety of groups including city pre-schools and businesses.

The exhibition runs until Thursday, January 4. Opening hours are 9am until 6pm daily.
