FIREFIGHTERS rushed to an industrial estate after diesel started leaking out of a lorry.
The driver accidentally pierced his fuel tank on a kerb in The Furlong, at Berry Hill Industrial Estate, Droitwich, today.
A fire crew from Droitwich found that plastic and soil had already been placed over a nearby drain when they arrived at the scene.
A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said this was done to prevent diesel from entering the water.
They said: "Fuel is flammable liquid and we don't want any large quantities entering the watercourse."
The fire service received a report about the incident at 11.28am today and later called the police to help with directing traffic.
Worcestershire County Council also sent staff to the scene.
