A FOUNDATION set up to celebrate a cricketing dynasty is appealing for people to locate items relating to the infamous incident of the D'Oliveira Affair.
The D'Oliveira Foundation is appealing for people to search their attics to locate items relating to the infamous incident, which the foundation can loan for an exhibition to mark the event.
The D'Oliveira Affair was the political and sporting controversy relating to the scheduled 1968–69 tour of South Africa and Basil D'Oliveira's non-inclusion. It had a massive impact in turning international opinion against the apartheid regime in South Africa.
The small exhibition will take place before the foundation's annual gala dinner, which is being held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club (WCCC) on Friday, September 14.
Basil D'Oliveira famously played for Worcestershire.
The exhibition will feature items from the Lord's Museum, the WCCC Heritage Group, and from the D'Oliveira family.
Anyone with item on the incident, or on Basil D'Oliveira's life, is asked to contact Mark on 07506 747619 or email ma004g2691@blueyonder.co.uk.
