AFTER four months, 178 babies, a 16-page supplement and 4,400 readers' voted, we have crowned the winners of this year's Worcester News Baby of The Year competition.

Back in February, proud mums and dads brought their babies to Crowngate Shopping Centre to have their child photographed by our official photographers, Fraser Portraits.

Our readers then decided on the 10 finalists in each category, with their pictures published in the Worcester News in a 16-page supplement.

A panel of judges then had the tough job of choosing the three category winners and overall victor.

Prizes this year included framed colour canvases of the pictures chosen by the parents to be entered into our competition, plus a CD with the image on provided by Fraser Portraits.

The Worcester News provided trophies for every winner plus a bouquet of flowers for the mum of our overall winner.

Our overall winner also received a hamper worth £200 from Kidz Baby Shop, Mealcheapen Street, Worcester.

Nine-month-old Thomas Barnes is the winner of the 0-9 months category. His mum Tiffany Probert, 22, and 26-year-old dad, also called Thomas Barnes, said: "We are really proud. We entered because we just thought it would be a nice thing to do and wanted to get him in the paper."

22 month-old Jayke Semple won the 19-36 months category. His mum Lauren Roberts, 22, and dad Michael Semple, 23, said they were "really happy."

Mr Semple said: "We entered him in the competition last year as well, and he got to the top 10 last year, so we decided to give it another go."

Pheobe Bagley, aged 16 months, as the overall Baby of the Year 2018 winner, as well as triumphing in the 10-18 months category. She was presented with her prizes with parents Bethany Finch, 23, and Samual Bagley, 24.

Miss Finch said: "I'm absolutely over the moon. My family entered the competition behind my back so it was a real surprise. The prizes are beautiful."

A big thank you to all of the families who entered the competition and congratulations to our winners.
