POP fans will rejoice at Worcestershire County Cricket Club on Saturday as 90s and noughties superstars will light up the venue.

The outdoor event, aptly named PopFest 2018, held at the Blackfinch New Road club, will take place from noon to 11pm, and aims to attract “mature people; reliving their youth and being happy”.

One of the headline acts will be the talented Gabrielle, who had nine top ten hits in the 90s, including a single with fellow ‘PopFest’ artist East 17 with ‘If You Ever’.

An event spokesman said: “Nine top ten hits in the 90s. The record-breaking, chart topping singer songwriter returns this summer with a new album, Under My Skin.

“Singer-songwriter Gabrielle saw her debut single ‘Dreams’ go to number one in 1993 and six years later ‘Rise’ went the same way.”

Other headliners will include Louise Redknapp, who has has sold over five million records worldwide, and S Club, now known as S Club Three.

Saturday Night hitmaker 90s favourite Whigfield, from Denmark, will hit the stage as will the One and Only, Chesney Hawkes who reached number one in nine countries all over Europe and was a top ten hit in the USA.

Fans can also prepare to sing along with Boyzlife, which includes Brian McFadden of Westlife, and Keith Duffy of Boyzone.

The event bills itself as 12 hours of non-stop music, reliving the memories of the 90s and 00s.

A spokesman for the event said drinks would be ‘standard pub prices’ not inflated to £5 to £6 a pint and that food will be priced fairly.

Worcestershire County Council said there are no planned road closures in operation around the venue during the musical spectacular.

General admission to the event is £40 plus booking fee and kids under 12 go free with no purchase necessary.

Event-goers are advised to wear appropriate clothing, footwear and protection against all weather.

There is no parking available at the cricket ground for general admission ticket holders but spaces are available at Christopher Whitehead Language College (WR2 4AF) for £5 per vehicle.

All tickets are sent out automatically via email.
