POLICE are encouraging residents to inform them about any suspected drug dens in their neighbourhood, after a raid uncovered a substantial cannabis-growing operation.
Members of Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team executed the drugs warrant at a home on Coppice Way, Droitwich, at midday on Tuesday, July 10.
Officers acted after concerns were raised by local residents due to the smell coming from the address, which belongs to Fortis Housing.
After forcing their way in, police found the home was unoccupied and both bedrooms had been converted into cannabis growing rooms.
All drugs and growing equipment were then seized.
PC Richard Rees, of Droitwich SNT, said: “If the public have concerns or suspicions that an address might be used to grow cannabis please report it.
“It can be reported anonymously but if possible make contact with your local SNT so we can discuss the matter with you.
“We will not ask you for statements, we just want the information and we will always look to take positive action.
“We work very closely with our partner agencies.”
PC Rees said Fortis has been notified and is “looking to take enforcement action”.
He added: “The message is very clear: if your property is used for criminality such as this you are likely to lose your house as well as face any criminal proceedings.”
