A Behind the Scenes Tour of Worcestershire's Archive and Archaeology Service is being held next week.

The tour will give people the chance to see part of The Hive not normally open to the public.

Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service stores over 12 miles of archives relating to the County, including treasures such as William Shakespeare's marriage bond, a letter written on board the Titanic and the visitor book signed by Her Majesty the Queen during her visit to the Hive in July 2012.

This tour will provide an opportunity for people to see areas not usually open to the public including the specially designed strong rooms and the archaeology workrooms where finds from excavations across the County and beyond are processed. People will have the chance to handle Roman pottery as well as watch the conservator at work.

Paul Hudson, outreach manager, said: "Our behind the scenes tours are always very popular. People have a fascination of seeing places they don't usually get to visit and it is also a chance for them to see some of the standout items in the collections, such as Shakespeare's marriage bond and a letter from the Titanic."

The tour will take place between 2pm and 3.30pm on Monday, July 16.

Places are limited and need to be booked in advance. Tickets are £6 each. It is being held on the Explore the Past floor, level 2.
