THE Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch of the RSPCA is appealing for people to rehome a cat, with the charity at 'bursting point'.

One of them is Betsy, described as a lovely seven-year-old tabby short-haired cat who was involved in a road traffic accident and had to have her leg amputated.

Betsy has recovered well from the surgery and is now looking for a permanent loving home.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "We are full to bursting point with cats - there are lots at The Holdings Rescue and Rehoming Centre looking for their forever homes.

"Betsy is a very sweet natured girl who needs a quiet home where she can adjust to a new life on three legs.

"She cannot go where there are young children, but would love all the attention from older children.

"As Betsy is now vulnerable, she cannot roam free and would need garden access only, so the garden would need to be secure for her.

"She has been spayed, vaccinated, chipped and is up to date with her flea and worm treatments."

For more information about Betsy or any of the charity's other cats seeking adoption, please call The Holdings Rescue & Rehoming Centre on 07484 905707 or 01905 841354.

Alternatively you can pop in and meet the cats, any day except Wednesdays, between 11am and 4pm at Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Kempsey, Worcester WR5 3FP.

Details of the branch's rescued animals are on the branch website rspca-worcester.org.

Last week's appeal for a home for rescue rabbit Hope proved to be a success.

Mrs Haynes said: "We had a lot of good calls interested in adopting Hope and so several rabbits were reserved as a result. We're just waiting for home visits to be done."
