A HOUSING developer says it's working to restore the drinking water supply to an estate in Diglis – but won't know the cause until early next week.
Households in Diglis Water have been without drinking water since Tuesday last week (July 24), and residents say there has been a lack of updates from the authorities.
A spokesman for Taylor Wimpey, which built Diglis Water, said yesterday: “Following remedial works we have undertaken to a water tank in one of the pumping stations at Diglis Water, we are liaising closely with Severn Trent to resolve an issue with the water supply to some homes at this development.
"While Severn Trent establishes the cause of the issue and tests the quality of the water, they have, as a precaution, advised residents not to drink or cook with tap water. Whilst these tests are being carried out, Severn Trent is supplying these homes with bottled water and has advised us they are expecting test results early next week.”
