FLOAT downstream with The Story Man, for Sea Legs Puppet Theatre’s “gentle, musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale of belonging and identity”, The Ugly Duckling.

And the family show is coming as a summer holiday treat to the Swan Theatre – where else?

A spokesman said: “Meet a whole host of colourful characters as they run the troubled duckling out of the farmyard into a cold, lonely wilderness.

“Journey through the seasons as the hapless creature finds his way in a hostile world. But do not worry! In a grand musical finale to melt even the coldest of hearts, a happy ending awaits our humble hero.”

The spokesman added: “Set on the banks of a magical river, brilliant storytelling, fantastic puppets and a delightful musical score make this a fabulous show for little ones and their families, and the perfect treat for the summer holidays!”

Founded in 2001 by Artistic Director Rob Ashman, Sea Legs Puppet Theatre is a high quality small touring puppet theatre.

The spokesman added: “Every aspect of every production has been crafted in order to create an experience that will stand out for its quality, innovation and fun.

“So get ready to succumb to the magic of the ancient and enchanting world of puppetry and storytelling at Worcester’s Swan Theatre this summer.”

The show is recommended for families and children aged three and over.
