A FORMER teacher who quit her job to open a zero-waste shop hopes to raise £12,000 by Tuesday to help bring more plastic-waste free products to Worcester.

Phillipa Gilfillan says the shop will open at the end of next month but her crowd funding campaign is trying to raise extra funds to pay for a greater variety of products to sell.

The shop called Pack It In will open in The Gallery’, at The Old Market Hall off the Shambles and Mrs Gilfillan, 50 hopes it will help people in the town become more sustainable.

Mrs Gilfillan said: “The extra funds will mean that we can stock a wider range of products both food and non-food to help people on their plastic free journey.

"We want to build a community that supports people to transition to a plastic-free life which is not only good for the environment but also for your pocket and your health."

Mrs Gilfillan taught at Northwick Manor Primary School for 22 years before leaving her job earlier this year to work on opening her shop.
