A MUM from Worcester was left shocked after discovering that her car had been badly damaged whilst parked overnight – with insurers saying the vehicle is a write-off.

Abby Wilson’s Citroen Saxo, registration number VX52 BUW, was thought to have been hit by another vehicle overnight in Victoria Road, Malvern, near to the police station, between 9.30pm on Thursday, August 23 and 4.15pm on Friday, August 24.

The 33-year-old, from Warndon, who has a young daughter and uses the car to get to work, was upset to find the vehicle badly damaged on Friday afternoon, after she had left the car overnight in order to ride home with her husband, Jim.

She has been told by her insurance company that the car is a write-off.

Following the incident, Mrs Wilson made a plea in the Worcester News for the person who caused the damage to her car to come forward.

Yesterday, Mrs Wilson told the Worcester News that a person who said they had hit the car had now come forward.

She said they claimed they had reported the damage to Kidderminster Police Station on Friday afternoon.

Mrs Wilson said that, although the vehicle was not worth a lot, the car was her way of getting “out and about”.

Speaking on Saturday, Mrs Wilson, who is an assistant manager at Waitrose, said: “I just don’t know how someone could leave it like that.

"I was cross – I had worked all day and had taken a bus to get back down to see it in that state.

“The driver drove off and left it completely smashed.

“I looked everywhere for a note but I could not find one.

“It is not about money, it is just that it's my way of getting out and about.

“I am generally an upbeat person but I hope karma will get them back.”
