WORCESTER Festival went out with a bang as hundreds enjoyed a stunning firework display in South Quay.

Crowds watched as the display lit up the Bank Holiday Monday sky, with the rain luckily staying away.

The spectacular fireworks display held above the banks of the River Severn, brought the curtain down on the popular festival raising money for St Richard's Hospice in the process.

A number of people commented on how excellent the display was this year and Worcester News Camera Club members sent in some spectacular images and video of the fireworks.

The fireworks display has grown in popularity over the years, as it is now in its 15th year.

Meanwhile at Fort Royal Park, the popular One World in Our Park event returned and was enjoyed by residents.

The family-friendly mini festival featured a programme music, activities and dance.

The programme includes Bhangra dancing, Samba, cheerleading, and Zumba, plus live local band Bitter Roots and the amazing sounds of the Voices Unlimited Choir, and was officially opened by Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Jabba Riaz.

One World in Our Park is organised by the Friends of Fort Royal Park and Commandery Gardens, with support from Worcester City Council, Freedom Leisure, Fortis Living and Matthews City and Country Homes.

Chairman of the Friends of Fort Royal Park, said: "It went really well.

"A successful event, enjoyed by a large crowd."
