A DRUG dealer has admitted conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine.

Ross Strangwood, aged 32, of Old School Lane, Hereford, admitted the offences when he appeared before recorder Martin Jackson at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday.

The conspiracy to supply both class A drugs took place between September 12 last year and February 8 this year.

Adam Western, defending, said Strangwood's basis of plea was that he was a 'runner' and 'acting under instruction from others'.

He said: "This was not his operation."

The Crown Prosecution Service, represented at the hearing by Jamie Scott, was given 28 days to see whether they accept the defendant's basis of plea.

If the plea is accepted then Strangwood will be sentenced at the end of a trial involving other defendants accused of the conspiracy which is scheduled to take place next March.

Strangwood was given unconditional bail until that hearing. In the meantime a pre-sentence report will be prepared by the probation service to assist with sentencing.

Recorder Jackson said he would make no promises about the eventual sentence Strangwood would receive.

He told the defendant: "All sentencing options are going to be on the table, including custody."
