A COLLEGE principal has stood down after 10 years, saying it has been a "great privilege".
Worcester Sixth Form College Principal Michael Kitcatt stepped down from the position, with Edward Senior appointed as his successor.
Mr Kitcatt, said: "My entire teaching career has been in sixth form colleges and I have no doubt that students really benefit from the specialist 16-19 environment that they offer. It has been a great privilege to be principal for the past 10 years and to have worked with such wonderful students, staff and governors."
Mr Kitcatt joined the college in 1985 as a teacher of economics and business and, after a successful period at Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College, returned as deputy principal in 1998 before becoming principal in 2008.
"I will certainly miss this in the future, but am looking forward to new opportunities ahead," Mr Kitcatt added.
MP Robin Walker recently visited the college, congratulating both Mr Kitcatt and Mr Senior.
