WORCESTER College of Technology has celebrated the end of another successful year with a graduation ceremony at the city's cathedral.

Almost 200 higher education students graduated on Friday in the traditional black gown and mortarboard.

Special guests included the Mayor of Worcester Stephen Inman, MP for Edgbaston Gisela Stuart, and college principal Chris Morecroft.

Mr Morecroft said: "This is one of the best days in the college calendar. We were very proud to have Gisela Stuart as our guest speaker as she had been a student as well as a lecturer at the college. Her success shows how much can be achieved by students."

The college opened in 1939, when annual enrolment was 600 students. In 2007, the college enrolled 15,000 students, including 3,000 full-time and 1,000 in higher education.
