THE main part of Worcester’s Croft Road car park, used by lorries and coaches, is to be closed for a week for extensive resurfacing work.

The section to the south of the railway viaduct will be closed from 7am on Monday, September 17, until 7am on Monday, September 24.

Cars will still be able to use the section of the car park north of the viaduct; however the number of spaces will be limited, so motorists are encouraged to consider parking elsewhere while the work is being carried out.

Alternative parking for coaches is available at Hylton Road, King Street and Sansome Walk car parks.

While the refurbishment work takes place, coaches will also be allowed to park on the yellow lines in Grandstand Road.

The nearest parking for lorries will be at Wainwright Road, Warndon Business Park or the M5 southbound services at Strensham.

The city council has contacted the National Hauliers Association and the National Coach Tourism Association to make them aware of these arrangements.
