A MAN is recovering in hospital in a 'stable condition' after being stabbed near a block of toilets in Evesham.

No arrests have been made following the attack near the Workman Gardens, at the junction of Port Street, Waterside and Bridge in Evesham, at about 11.17am last Monday (September 10).

Following the stabbing, the victim, who is in his 30s, was taken by air ambulance to hospital and is still in a critical condition.

Police cordoned off part of Waterside, Evesham, as well as a section of Workman Gardens and a driveway leading to a social club on the opposite side of the road.

Speaking on the day of the incident, passerby Geoff Freeman, who was visiting the town from Sussex, said: "We saw the helicopter coming over the bridge. It landed on the field.

"There were a couple of police cars, an ambulance and flashing lights.

"That is all we saw really. We saw all this and wondered what was going on."

Businesses in the nearby vicinity were asked to review CCTV cameras to help the police investigation.

Police investigating the stabbing are appealing for witnesses to call them on 101, quoting incident number 182s.
