A CARER received the surprise of a lifetime after winning a top-of-the-range luxury sports car worth more than £67,000.

Martin Hook, 56, from Worcester, was left lost for words when he was handed the keys to his dream car worth £67,128 as well as receiving £20,000 in cash.

The Porsche Cayenne e-hybrid was handed by dream car giveaway company, Best of the Best.

Mr Hook said: “It’s so surreal, I feel like I’m dreaming.

“I am over the moon, I just can’t believe it.

“With everything that has been going on in my life, this has made my year. I am still speechless.

“It just shows, you’ve got to be in it to win it!

“Thank you so much, this is unbelievable.”

Mr Hook has been without a vehicle for a few years due to not being able to afford a car.

He is a full-time carer for his 88-year-old mother, Jean, who has dementia.

His twin brother, Phil, described him as a caring person who was always putting others before himself.

He added: “My brother is a hard worker and seems to always have things going on. He has injured his cruciate ligament in his knee from playing rugby, or so he is telling everyone!

“It was difficult to keep this quiet for the past 24 hours. I picked him up yesterday from the hospital and this competition was all he was talking about.

“If anybody deserves this win, it’s my brother. He has gone through a lot, so this will really mean the world to him.”

Christian Williams, who delivered the good news, said Mr Hook was a worthy winner and he deserved the prize.

He said: “You could see the excitement on his face as soon as he opened the door.

“He was ecstatic and literally jumped on me when I told him he won – that doesn’t happen very often!”

Martin is a loyal customer of Best of the Best and has been entering the competition since it started running, in 1999.

The luxury car competition runs every week and has given away over £23 million of prizes so far, with winners from across the globe.
