THOMAS Jones, who was last seen close to the River Severn in Worcester, has now been missing for five days.

Following his disappearance, residents, students and family and friends throughout the city and further afield have banded together in the search for the 18-year-old.

Who is Thomas Jones?

18-year-old Thomas Jones, from Bromsgrove, is a first-year student at the University of Worcester, studying Primary Initial Teacher Education.

The fresher went missing in his first week at University, on Wednesday, September 19.

What do we know of his movements before he disappeared?

He was last seen near the River Severn in Worcester during the early hours of the morning.

He was wearing a Blue lacoste jacket, dark blue jeans and blue Adidas Gazelle trainers.

Here's a timeline of his movements on the night:

3.00am McDonald’s Foregate Street with friends.

Friends got university transport home - Tom walked as he had done the night before.

3.15am - Spoke to his mother on the phone, said he was home, was actually still on the way.

3.30am - Took a Snapchat near Worcester racecourse black fences - thought to be on path towards river.

3.45am - Told flat mates he was on way home and wouldn’t be long.

3.51am - Send Snapchat to friend in halls saying wouldn’t be long till he was there.

There is no evidence of where Tom was at any time since 3.51am.

How did the community respond?

People have been putting up posters around the city and others have been raising awareness on social media.

Over the weekend hundreds of searchers were out looking for him, and handing out flyers.

Many people came together to take part in a mass search for Thomas on Sunday, September 23.

A petition for CCTV along the River Severn has amassed almost 5,000 signatures, with numbers increasing as we speak.

What is the Find Jonah Facebook group?

The group was set up by friend Harley Hetherington with the aim of keeping people updated and sharing information in the search for Thomas. It has more than 16,000 members, and counting.

What have the police said?

Two men, aged 20, and from Worcester, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday evening.

Speaking earlier today (Monday), Superintendent Damian Pettit said: "We've made two arrests of two individuals who are of significance to our investigation and may yield some information around the whereabouts of Thomas."

Worcester News:

Police asked the public today to stay away from the search area around the Sabrina Bridge and Hylton Road, where the youngster was last seen, so that their search divers and officers could continue to conduct "a full and thorough search".
