A YOUNG man accused of paying for the sexual services of a teenage girl asked what he was doing in court and said the allegation had 'ruined' his life.

Kaasim Multani denies a single count of paying for the sexual services of a child by giving her alcohol, cannabis and soft drinks. Bradley Tout and Kulin Odedra deny the same count. Tout denies rape. Odedra denies two counts of rape, one of assault by penetration, one of attempted rape and one of attempting to sexually exploit a child.

Multani, 20, gave evidence from the witness box at Worcester Crown Court yesterday. The girl performed oral sex on him at County Hall, Worcester on December 27, 2016 but Multani said he never gave her anything before she did so. Before they got to County Hall Multani said Tout had stopped the car so he could relieve himself, the time the girl said she drank Jack Daniels whiskey from a coke bottle. Multani admitted rolling a spliff, lighting it and smoking it and handing the joint to Odedra but said he had never given it to the girl.

Multani said when they arrived at County Hall the girl asked Tout to move the car to a more secluded location within the car park, behind recycling bins. Multani admitted joking about the size of Tout's private parts as the girl performed a sex act on him which made Tout embarrassed. He said the girl then invited him (Multani) to join her on the back seat of the car where she performed the sex act on him. Multani said he stopped her, asked if the girl was okay and if she was sure she wanted to carry on and asked to be taken home by Tout.

He said he told the girl at the time: "I'm not the type of guy to make a girl do something she doesn't want to do. If you feel anyone is pressurising you to do something just say."

Multani said sexual talk did not start until they reached County Hall but in cross-examination prosecutor Steven Bailey said phone evidence showed the girl had texted a friend 'they're trying to get me to have a threesome' 15 minutes before Tout pulled up at County Hall. Multani said: "The main thing I have thought is 'why am I here if I haven't paid her with anything?'"

He added: "I never gave her anything. I have nothing to hide and nothing to lie about."

Multani said: "I have had 18 months to think about how this has ruined my life and how I need to tell the truth."

He had been due to start an apprenticeship at Sanctuary Housing before the allegations were made. Tout declined to enter the witness box.

The trial continues.
