WELL-wishers from across the county are rallying in remembrance of University of Worcester student Thomas Jones.
Local people have responded to a Crowdfunding page, set up on Monday to pay for memorials in honour of the teenager.
A body found in the River Severn, in Worcester, on Friday was formally identified as the 18-year-old yesterday (Tuesday, October 2).
The youngster, known as Jonah, vanished in the early hours on September 19 after a night out at Velvet during his first week at university.
Plans are underway for a special beer and a charity football match for the West Brom fan.
The Hop Pole Inn in Friar Street, Droitwich, has teamed up with its Ambridge Brewery to launch a special brew in his memory called Jonah’s Pale Ale.
The pint will start being brewed today and profits will go to the memorial fund.
Landlord Chris Wilson said: “I felt shocked and upset when I heard the sad news. So I was going to donate to the fundraising page myself - about £20 or £30, then I thought of an idea about making a bigger donation.
“How about making a brew and turning it round for donations?”
A 15p per pint charge will be added to the bill, making the cost £81 a barrel, which will be donated by Ambridge brewery.
Mr Wilson, 38, said of the response: “It has been amazing - unbelievable. My phone has been going barmy. About 600 shares on Facebook and phone calls from pubs throughout Worcestershire, Bromsgrove, Hereford and Feckenham who were interested in buying a barrel.”
In Bromsgrove, a charity match is being organised at the Victoria Ground in Birmingham Road in memory of the former youth player. It will take place on October 16 at 7.45pm.
A club statement said: "Proceeds from the game will go to the discretion of Tom's family."
The student's death is currently being treated as unexplained, and a post-mortem is ongoing.
