A MAN was brought down from the roof of a multi-storey carpark by emergency crews.

Police officers, with the help of ambulance and fire staff, were able to bring the man down safely from the St Martin’s Quarter multi-storey in the early hours of Thursday morning.

An eyewitness said emergency staff “got someone down from a rooftop with the extended ladders on the fire engine”.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the patient was then assessed before being taken to hospital.

“We were called to reports of a patient on the multi-storey carpark,” he said.

A hazardous area response team and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene around 11pm.

The spokesman said, according to the log, at 2.10am the man had been brought down from the roof and was being assessed.

He was “taken to hospital after assessment,” added the spokesman.
