A CARVERY is on the hunt for the Black Country's super-gran or number one grandad to reward them with a ‘grand’ day out worth £1,000.

The Half Penny Farm on Joseph Street, Oldbury, is celebrating National Grandparents Day today (Sunday, October 7) by calling for grandparents who deserve a treat.

If your grandad cooks dinner for your little ones, or your gran’s taxis are a service you can’t live without, the pub wants to thank them for being so special. The lucky winner will receive a £1,000 day of activities ending with a family carvery at a Farmhouse Inns pub.

Mark Tennant, general manager at the Half Penny Farm, said: “Grandparents often play very important support roles for growing families, and National Grandparents Day feels like the ideal time to celebrate the unsung heroes.

“It’s always heart-warming to see all the generations coming together over good food, company, and conversation, and we look forward to finding out what makes the grandparents of the Black Country so special to give them the grand day out finished with a family carvery they so deserve.”
