THE revamp of a well-loved family-run Worcester cafe has been delayed.

Popular cafe Poppins on The Foregate, is undergoing its first revamp since 1992 and initially, father-son duo, Senol Can and Kaan Can, of St John’s, had planned to reopen last Tuesday but this has now been postponed until Tuesday, October 16.

Mr Kaan Can said: “The delay is due to a combination of unforeseen repairs, supplier let down and contractor issues.

“However, all is sorted now and the works are due to finish by the end of the week.”

He added: “We will take a few days upon completion of the works for staff training and interior decoration and we will be ready to reopen our doors to our customers.”

The work will see a complete revamp of the interior walls and floor, with new furniture, including comfy seating and new tables.

The family have owned the restaurant since December 2002.
