A"NAIVE" 23-year-old used another car's tax disc on his vehicle, a court heard.
Robert Walker admitted fraudulently using the tax disc from a Ford KA and driving without insurance when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday.
Emma Lile, prosecuting, said Walker's Ford Focus was stopped on Wednesday, September 12, when police found the correct, expired disc for that vehicle behind the fraudulent one.
She said it emerged his insurance had been cancelled in December 2006.
Walker, of Lion Court in Worcester city centre, appeared unrepresented at court and said he had been "naive" in using the disc, which he claimed he found on the floor.
"I believed I was insured," he said.
"I thought my father had paid the full insurance up front. After the case I discovered he'd just paid a month for me, expecting me to carry on the payments after that month."
Walker was fined £450 and must pay £60 prosecution costs. Six penalty points will be added to his licence.
