A CHOIR group with a health-boosting difference will be performing at a Worcester church on Friday.
The Merry Trembloes, from the Worcester and District branch of Parkinson’s UK, is hosting its free concert of popular songs, supported by White Ladies Aston Singers at St Peter’s Baptist Church.
The group consists of people living with Parkinson’s disease who come together to sing and exercise their vocal chords, which is therapeutic to sufferers as it is thought to improve speech, respiratory control and muscle activity.
Member Mr Graham Steele said: “By singing it can extend the life of a Parkinson’s suffers voice.
“We are all at different stages – some of us are at the trembling stage, some have a soft voice. We are not the best sounding choir but we are so brave.”
He added that more than 250 people in Worcestershire have Parkinson’s disease.
The event starts at 7pm and refreshments will be provided. There will be collection to support and expand activities within the branch.
