DUDLEY Council has created an information hub which offers support and advice to borough carers.

Situated at Queens Cross Network on Wellington Road, the hub is available to anyone who cares for a relative, neighbour or friend who has long term illness, disability or is just old and frail.

The hub is designed to help the lives of all local carers by offering practical help, advice and support which could ease their caring responsibilities.

Staff are available to provide information, together with wellbeing and emotional support.

They can also put carers in touch with respite services and support planning.

And they can also provide carers with contact to community groups where they can socialise with people going through similar experiences.

Cllr John Martin, Dudley cabinet member for adult and social care, said: "Carers play a crucial role in our communities with many working around the clock caring for a loved one or friend.

"The hard work does not go unnoticed and we appreciate how difficult it can be for carers to find the time to seek out advice and support.

"With our new hub, carers can pop in or pick up the phone at a time that suits them and we will do our best to ease the pressure by providing all the information and support they need in one place."

The hub is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm when people can drop in, alternatively people can call 01384 818723 or email carers.network@dudley.gov.uk
