A PILE of bin bags left outside a beauty clinic caused outrage.

A hairdresser who works at Esthetique Beauty Clinic in Lowesmoor said it was left by people living in nearby flats.

Yolanda Bailamamlla said: “In the morning I went to the salon at around 8:50am, it was full of rubbish, it was everywhere, I couldn’t open the door so I moved a few bags. I took photos and sent them to my boss. A few minuets later the police came and asked me if it was our rubbish. It wasn’t.”

Mrs Bailamamlla said: “They then spoke to local people around the area. They told them they need to remove the rubbish. I gave the number for the landlord to the police.”

Mrs Bailamamlla said rubbish on the streets in the area is a recurring problem. “The people who rent the flats leave the rubbish every Thursday and it’s disgusting. They always leave it. We have a lot of problems with rubbish. Next to the salon there is a corridor where they leave rubbish.”

“The landlord is always changing the people who live there. They rent for a few months then they leave” Mrs Bailamamlla claimed: “They are mostly men.” she said. “This is not the first issue we have had.”

We were unable to contact the landlord of the nearby properties for a comment.

One member of the public who saw the pile on bin bags on Thursday said: “It’s almost inviting the rats and the seagulls, and people have to walk in the road.”

We understand that the residents in the area have sack collections rather than wheelie bin collections. On this occasion it is believed that someone who was due to move out from their home had left out more rubbish than usual, but the Worcester City Council’s rubbish collection service collected the rubbish as normal.

By 10am the rubbish was reportedly removed. However the pile of bin bags had been blocking the pavement.

Worcester Safer Neighbourhood Team tweeted that they had spent the morning helping the council staff to remove the bin bags calling the stack of bin bags ‘unacceptable.’
